Time zones and dates

Every date and time in Crew Off is in your company's time zone, which decides what "today" and "Friday" mean and when the Jobber task starts and ends.

Your company has one time zone. Everyone in it, the crew, the approvers and the office, sees dates and times in that zone, wherever their phone is.

Where it's set

In Settings, under Company, Time zone. Connecting Jobber sets it from the Jobber account owner's time zone. You can change it at any time. The choices cover the US and Canada, from Hawaii to Newfoundland.

What it changes

  • Today and tomorrow. When someone types "today", "tomorrow" or "Friday", it's the company's today. A crew member on a job two hours away in another zone still asks for the company's Friday.
  • Times on screen. "Asked Oct 5, 6:41 AM" on a request, and the dates on Requests, which names the zone at the top, for example "Dates in Mountain time."
  • The Jobber task. Approved time off goes on the Jobber schedule from the start of the first day to the end of the last, in the company's zone.
  • Balances. Each year runs January 1 to December 31 in the company's zone.

How dates are read

  • Words: "today", "tomorrow", "Friday", "next Monday", "July 14 to 18".
  • Numbers are month first, the North American way: "10/9" is October 9, and "10/9 to 10/12" is October 9 to 12.
  • A date in a month that's already gone this year means next year.
  • Up to 60 days in one request, as far back as 30 days (for a sick day you forgot to ask for), and up to about a year ahead.

If Crew Off can't tell which days, it asks. Picking the dates under Or pick the dates always works.

Daylight saving

Nothing to do. The zone knows when the clocks change, and time off is in whole days.
